    Default Winter weather gear

I would check out the Artic Armour since it has floatation built in it. I love my Guide Wear, but didn't check out the AA.

Maybe someone that has used them both will chime in. I was advised by Feesh and GDG on the comparison of the 100 mph suit vs the Guide Wear. They had used them both. I'd rather make my decision on a one on one comparison as just take someone's word on the only brand they've ever bought. If you've never used an opposing brand, how will you Really know?

That being said , I'm sure they ALL make nice suits.

I've worn a Guidewear rainsuit for years, and it's hard to beat, but for cold weather, the Arctic Armor is the best I've found. It's light, waterproof, floats you if you fall in, and has extra padding in the knees.

Bill I own both (Pro Qual jacket and Guidewear uninsulated bibs) and AA. The Pro Qual/Guide wear combo is by far two of the most versatile pieces of gear I own because you can layer it up or down depending on the temperature and conditions. The AA is only good for very cold weather. Above 40 you
won't be able to stand it. I usually only wear jeans or sweats underneath just to keep the temperature in check.

Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.

The AA looks like a deal at 320-340 for the entire suit. I paid a similar price for my Insulated Guide Wear suit on sale, but it doesn't float. :-)

Is the AA considered a legal Floatation Device ( PFD) by the Coast Guard, and the Corp?
