Default Ozarks Hillbilly Looking for Recomendations

    Hi All
My wife and I are wanting to excape the winter for a week or so in February or March, hoping to do some Southern Crappie fishing. We have a 87 champion bass boat and a 20 ft. metal boat with a 9.9 so can handle most waters. We would like thoughts on good dates, Lakes, places to stay etc. which boat to bring.... any recomdendations would be appreciated. Thanks

    Cabins are at :
    Pickwick, Coleman state park.
    Sardis, Kyle state park
    Enid, Cossar state park
    Grenada, White state park.

They are about $80 per night, close to ramps, hook up battery charger with a 100 ft cord or less. Low water conditions now so a ramp maybe a little more of a drive.
    Either boat should do.

Bring the glass boat, as far as when to come that's a crap shoot. We are having our spring camp at Grenada the last weekend in March.

Rees is correct. The weather is a gamble. We can go from one extreme to the other. Bring the big glass boat, cause the wind can be brutal. That 9.9 won't get you out fast enough if your caught in bad weather on a big lake. Most cabins are booked already, unless you have a camper you will be forced to stay in a hotel. You can always get put on a call list in case of cancelations. You might get lucky.

What dates are you planning to be here?

At Cossar I entered Mar. 8 plus 10 days. It shows 3 cabins available.

The only weeks I can not travel are 3/10-21, as my Sister In-law is coming in (flying in on a broom I believe) Pretty flexible other than that will take a look at Cossar, Thanks

    That reminds me of something.
I had some clean up to do at work. I borrowed a broom from the female storeroom clerk. I broke it with the heavy stuff I was sweeping. I returned it saying, Sorry I broke your ride. Dang, that little lady could run fast with a broom stick in her hand. But not as fast as me.

Was wondering, we have a cabin March 7 thru 11 with the grandkids. Might get some fishing in.
