    Default Any of you guys try the 3/8 oz roadrunner


    Anybody try the 3/8 oz roadrunner jig head for spider rigging? Was wondering if a guy can get a good flash spider rigging in the spring? The water is real muddy then. I make my own been thinking about bring some down the spring.

    Use 1/8 I make all the time with 1/0 and 2/0 hooks. About always got one one the bottom of my double rig. If I need flash I just change to a #2 blade. Dont see why yours wouldn't work.

    2 is biggest I have tried. Get a pretty good thump at about .4 .5. Might go to a 3 and give it a try. Have caught some big crappie on Sardis in the spring on spinner baits with 4 and 5 blades. Know a couple of old guys who use nothing but little Georges with #4 blade.

    I use the pony heads by Satdoc. His are 1/8 and 1/4. He calls his a Sickle Jig. I bet the 3/8 would be good for the bottom jig when spider riggin.

    Depends on a few things. If the bite is slow, cut the belly of what you catch to see what size shad they are after. Small shad, small baits; large shad, large baits.

    Hay Jackie how big are those blades? That look good now that give a flash in the spring when the water is muddy.

    I think a 3/8 and you will loose action but that's my opinion and I don't know much about roadrunners

    Trolling at .5 to 1 the marabou & flashabuo will give you action with the water being muddy the 3 1/2 blade will give you more flash. Good way too spider rig.
