I have been a "member" for a few years now but have mostly remained quiet minus a few pm's. I thought that I made an introductory post as well as a few other small posts in the forum several years ago when I first joined but my post total doesn't reflect that right now. However, if I am incorrect and I never properly introduced myself then I owe everyone an apology and hope you accept this as my new introduction.
I owe this site and the members a huge thank you for all the knowledgeable information that I have obtained while simply viewing others posts. I joined crappie.com in the hopes that I would be able to teach myself (with the help of crappie.com) how to be a successful crappie fisherman. This is still a work in progress!
My background:
I grew up hunting and fishing (bass & trout). The past few years, I have developed a desire to learn how to fish for crappie. I have been reading this forum for several years trying to pick up on new things to try. I have bought a few jigs, crankbaits, crappie rods & reels, etc that I have read about from some of the member reviews that I ran across that met my budget.![]()
After getting the gear and obtaining some knowledge from you guys, I took off to the water to catch me some crappie!!After several several several skunks and wondering what the heck am I doing wrong I finally realized that 'years of experience' was not on my side and although I had read about and bought gear that others have caught crappie with didn't mean I was going to catch them!
Long story short.... I'm not giving up and still hope to bring home some good eats one day that I leave that lake..
