Driving across the levy when the lake is below 200 there is an old paved road, actually there are 2. One is ole number 7 running up the West bank of the lake, the other one runs from the curve in the levy toward Carvers Point. I have always thought of it being old Hwy 8 but that's not the case, old 8 runs along the south back of the lake.
Anyone got any idea what this old road bed was??

I know where your talking about but not sure what it is.I've always heard that there was a old road bed that went across to carvers point or maybe the swim beach at the rocks from where your talking about but haven't seen any proof of it.
Wish my Father-In-Law was still with us, he would know for sure.

My granddad was from Gore Springs and my grandmother was from Big Creek, so I asked my uncle.
That is the first road that went from Nader to Calhoun City before the feds rebuilt and numbered highways. It was rebuilt with hwy 8 that's on the south side of the lake in the '40s. New hwy 8 was built during and after the dam was built.
