What Feelay said too--trick is find where the fish are--find the depth and stay on that contour till they play out then search to find another. It could be different on every lake. For me right now (which is not normal) I am fishing 9 to 15 ft deep in 14 to 18 FOW. I am running .5mph and using gnat on top and jig on bottom.
But really the main thing is to find where the fish are--the rest is just getting them to bite. Good luck.

The white crappie are scattered this time of year following the schools of shad. That's why pulling cranks works so well. You cover lots of water. But the past couple of trips I've pulled cranks, my bites were around cover near a creek channel. I'm gonna be jig fishing tomorrow morning for a change of pace.
