My chart says 17' deep for 130' of line and 18' deep for 150' of line. Don't we have to subract a foot from the depth due to pole being a foot above water (17' - 1' = 16')? Just trying to understand this.....Quote:

Wasn't trying to split hairs...just trying to figure out effect if I run my poles higher......for instance, if I ran them 4 foot above surface do I have to subtract 4 foot from depth shown on chart? I think the answer is yes, but just trying to confirm.
I don't think it need to be so precise that you have to worry about it. I have 6 poles most of the time and run them all a few feet different. Seem that most of the time as long as they are within 10' or so, they'll get bit.

Since it is under tension while trolling and being thinner diameter, braid will run deeper. Braid will ride higher in the water column than mono/flouro/copoly in a no tension situation.Quote:
