I've had better luck using crappie nibbles when spider rigging with hair jigs. I never use minnows on my home lake of Okatibbee but I use them when I fish the Big Four.
You a fast learner like me.. MR try em all... Best teacher is experience and time on water.. You will not beat a minner- tippin or by itself in cool water conditions.. If you prefer Long lining at .4 or faster IMO u are getting a lil more reaction bite than natural presentation(especially in cool water) most LL guys are turning a blade or flashy, thumping tail... I can about assure you at .8 and above the minnows ain't gonna make it long and that is truly a reaction bite more than anything(hungry active fish will hit 85% of baits you get close at that point)
