The first week of March a couple of guys and myself are planing a trip to Grenada and would like some information on where the fish should be,shallow, or moveing up,and what to look for. We are coming from Illinois and any help would be greatly appreciated.

the water level in the lake will vary so much that an absulute projection as to where to fish will be a crap shoot . don't think a guide that fishes grenada would make a guess that far in advance . jmo "g" is right on the money about getting a guide . grenada is the most difficult of the coe lakes in ms (jmo) . it can be hit/miss even to the locals .my choice of grenada usually has me putting in at choctaw or torrance but that and 50 cents will buy you a coke (at sams ).
I've made the trip from iowa 3 times. the recommendations above are spot on. Grenada can be tough, it's a big fish lake not a number's lake in my experience. First week of March is usually early for any spawning. I always went the last week in March and think that week or the next is the start of the spawn. So I would plan on creek channels, middle of bays, typical pre-spawn areas. Spider rigging is your best tool. It's always worth going there, the first 5 minutes of my last trip I landed a 2lb 10oz fish from the first stick up I fished. Made the trip.
Slablicious sounds like you started that trip right!! I am going down the middle of March and then returning that last week of March. Never been there but have friends that go every year and rave about it so this is the year I get to try it out! Hopefully it becomes an annual thing for me.
I'm certainly no expert...as most on here will gladly tell you...but I'd keep a good eye on general water level, whether or not the COE is pullin water, recent rains and avg. water temp. Then go on down and roll the dice witht he rest of us.
