Learned something new today......Never heard of the "bead" technique....I'm a rookie
That bead deal sounds cool ,, I might have to try that . I was just thinking last weekend that it would be nice if you had some way to help you detect the bite . Does the wind or boats waves mess with the bead much???
I've never used a bead, but will try it. What size bead, show us a pic!!!

I use the same beads that I use for slip floats. Nothing special. They really come into their own for those of us that fish alone alot. It's easy to get distracted when taking off a fish, putting on a fresh minnow or retying a rig and that little "click" gives you a heads up signal that something is going on with the other 4 poles that we need to see.
A 6mm bead is the right size......use a plastic bead as they are louder than the glass ones. Even a deaf geezer like me can hear it.
