Blue bluff. Water very muddy but found some nice fairly clear water that was 60 degrees. Can't believe we didn't even get a bite!

When the water is really muddy, i usually go north past where the old river feeds into the ten tom above becker and find some clearer water. Normally you can pick up a few fish around the iron pilings where they load the barges. 60 deg? WOW! with a full moon on the way its should be turning on!!

That's why I was so surprised we didn't even get a bite. We fished from 12 ft to 1 ft trying to find em. I always catch em in there. Got a nice deep ditch close to 60 degree water plenty of cover...crazy.

Thanks for the info...I thought about going that far north but didn't.

Hey OleMiss I'm glad you got out there today. I'm sorry you didn't catch anything, we all have those days, sometimes they just plain don't bite.
don't worry about it not being anyone at the ramp, it's the middle of the week so not much pressure. What type of tactics did you use?

Im strictly a single poler but I did push some jigs thru some cover about 10-12 ft deep.

Man,sounds like you are on the right track sometimes they just don't cooperate. What colors did you try? I mostly troll minnows but i have good luck single poling early in the year with crawfish imitations.

I used chart green head, black body and chart green tail...southern pro large umbrellas. Chart/Orange/chart. Chart/black/pink. I usually do well with these colors there. Tried pumpkin/chart also. Probably shoulda tried more blues, reds.
