this whole things sounds like what they did to flower lake down from the cutoff. and also correct me if im wrong lakeview is an oxbow right how can somebody buy that and shut it down it all smells kinda fishey.

It is the same deal as Flower lake. Nobody bought either lake, they are public water but the surrounding land is private property, thus access is controlled by the land owners.

I think the state should use Imminent Domain and get some land for access to all of the oxbow lakes. Those lakes are treasures and the citizens of MS. should be able to fish in them.

Does the "petition" sticky at the top of the page have any clout?

They can go thru the middle of my farm and pay me what they say is market price for the land ( and I have no say or choice in the matter) they want to build a 4 lane highway on.....why can't they do the same thing and buy enough land to put a road in and a boat ramp on some of the oxbows? Maj....I don't know if that petition thing ever got organized and turned in or not.
