I have 4 sets of HiTeks on my boat and love them. The only problem I've had is when I'm side trolling from the front, sometimes my pole will roll out of the "V" in the front of the holder. Some poles have a thicker handle than others and that makes it worse. I went to my local hardware store and got a package of 4 corner braces. The first hole in the brace lined up perfectly with the 1/2 in bolt on my holder. I just had to drill the hole out a bigger size and cut off some of one side of the brace. I placed the "L" shaped piece between the rod holder and the brace and tightened it down. Here's pics to show what I did. We'll try them out tomorrow morning and let you all know how it worked.
