Slab's got most of the info you..need.....

    My .05 cents.....

    1) 4 poles - 2 outsides (12 - 14) and 2 insides (5-8 footers)
    2) Lines 10-12lb test mono is good + bullet+double eye + 3 foot leader + swivel +Bandit 300 each lake has a secret color...you can find the key in your Bass Pro catalog.....
    3) 2 people is a better idea than 1 ...lotta work for one person....

Stay away from them fellars with the little yeller boats on each side of their own big boat.. they might commence to throwing rocks at you....

I like the bullet weight set up so I can get the Bandit down without as much speed.

    Good info this thread though.....

Yes I've had a couple tangles and they are a witch but I'm running 10lb stren origional hi-vis yellow. I don't have to wear reading glasses to tie a knot.

That was fun. Had 3 of the 4 poles with fish on at one time!!. Pulling cranks to fishing is like 3rd base in baseball, ACTION ACTION!! Caught many crappie shorter that 12", a whole bunch of white bass and some green bass. That was so much fun, I don't know if I'll ever buy minnows again. I took pics but haven't loaded them yet. Will get them on here as soon as I can. If you haven't tried it yet (pulling), you don't know what you are missing.
Hate it took so long to read this thread..Maj I feel your pain on the pulling cranks expense i went through it last summer..Had to respond to this because I saw you fishing in Dew creek that day..big blue Skeeter single poling..saw you catch quite a few Congrats..Sorry WB just had to keep it going

Default Times almost here for sure to start pulling

even on Ross barnett. only bad thing about barnett is you have a window to pull them in. After that thermacline sets up, put the cranks up

Why? That's prime time at Sardis. Look at it this way, mother nature just eliminated 95% of the water for you. If you know how deep your baits are running with absolute certainty and you can see the thermocline on your fish finder, all you have to do is present a favorable color for the current light conditions slightly above their nose and hold on.

For some reason there seems to be a natural tendency to dive bomb to the bottom when it gets hot outside or slow down their presentation. In the middle of the summer I start at 1.9 mph and go up from there. Catching fish at 2.5 to 2.6 isn't uncommon at all. Just my .02 cents....:D
