A lotta folks on here use the Okumas, not really any asmaller than the depthmasters. They seem to be holding up fine, and as for the relining em, just back it wit some junk line then the good stuff over that. will save ya some cash.

No problems to date, they seem to be a good composite body reel and for the price it is hard to go wrong. Of course it is just like anything else if you lay them in the bottom of the boat and get sand and dirt and grime in them I'm sure you may have some problems. If you take care of them and transport them properly you should get years of service from them.

It's really starting to tick me off that Maj, a gewber newbie, was able to come up with a subject that spawned 85 responses and 1,000 hits. Don't go getting the big haiyd Maj, it's just beginners luck.

On the other hand, why fight it.

Anybody picked up an Orange Crush yet? Looks sweet.

A lot like the old Wannabe... except with fewer bad words. And Karate chop action. But, yes, still purtier than you.

Bought some of them last year and all I caught on them were bass at Enid and small crappie at Sardis. So you should buy up a bunch of them WB it's just what you are looking for:D

how important is it to have a baitcaster style reel when pulling cranks? I'm just getting into crappie fishing and all of the rods I would use for crappies are spinning reels. I guess I have one baitcaster on a medium action rod I would use for crappies...but the rest are on spinning rods and reels. please forgive the ignorance of this question! lol
