7711, I have 788 & 998 interlinked, if price were not a factor and I had to give one up it would be the 788. You can "see" things with the SI & DI that you never will on regular 2d. JMHO.

Back to line a monent, I was just in BPS looking a braided line, saw the Power Pro and the only colors in came in was green (dull green) and a dull red. Anyone have any recommendations about the color. I plan to use 30lb test.

Maj, go with Hi vis Yellow or Orange. Most likely you'll have to order it though cause BP never carries much of it. Cheaper that was anyhow. I likely to have Orange, yellow, Orange or Visa Verse so I can see my lines and keep them seperated easier

Power Pro comes in High Vis Yellow......I am looking at it in the BPS catalog right now.300 yds. of 30 lb. test $27.99......all they show in the 1500 yd. spools is Moss Green $124.99 for 30lb. Too high priced for me.

The only place I will probably pull cranks is on Okatibbee, and you don't need a 998 there. If I go anywhere else I will follow the pro's. LOL

Well....you lost me....I don't understand, I figured a 998 would be advantageous no matter where you fished. Trying to learn here.....I have been thinking about buying a 898.

I'm just proud to have a unit with base map and GPS. I may go high-tech one day.

Steve recently went to Gulf Shores fishing with some kin and he stopped by Bass Pro and got the last 300 yd spool of hi vis yellow 20# they had for me. Never used braid before but I'm gonna give it a try.

Well if you do and it improves your catch rate.....we won't be able to stand you. You will have to get another ironing board if you do ya know. :p
