I usally look for rock formations that fall into a muddy bottom and my cranks are always particurlaly small and never troll to fast for it runs down battery and most crappie arnt up for a huge chase like bass

Well Spawn, I hope you give the cranks a try. You'll be supprised to find that large crappie will go after large baits. I've experienced it many times and it's a blast. Good luck.

    I E-mailed Bandit about the depth the 200 & 300 would run.

JiI pull your 200 & 300 lures for crappie. How does the amount of line out
effect the depth at which your lures will run?

First let me thank you for using the finest crappie crankbait ever built and if you have not tried are crappie colors especially the pink ones you sure need to give them a try. I am fixing to do a new Advanced Trolling For Crappie DVD to replace my current one which I did before I discovered the many new tricks I have learned for trolling including our new crappie colors.
I myself use Spider Wire Stealth in 20lb for all my trolling, it has the same diameter as 8lb mono but has no stretch so I get a lot more vibration in my lure and when I stop the boat to pull a fish in it floats up instead of sinking and getting hung up and it is also strong enough to almost always pull your hung up crank bait free saving you a lot of money. I have found that with 150 foot of line out I reach my maximum depth and with more than that I create more friction on the line and I get less depth. With 100 foot out a 200 Bandit will run about 10 foot deep but with 150 foot out it will run around 12 foot deep. A 300 with 100 foot out runs about 14 foot deep and with 150 foot out it runs around 17 foot deep and that is at 2mph my favorite trolling speed between the water temps of 65 and 85 degrees. I hope this helps and to check out my crappie DVD's and for my new trolling one coming out in about 2 months go to Fishing Tennessee & jimduckworth.com . A lot of people don't know it but when the water gets real hot the oxygen drops out and I then I troll a 100 Bandit and it will run from 6 to 9 foot deep depending on the line you let out and a lot of crappie especially black crappie stay shallow all summer.
Jim Duckworth E-mail me the above. He also said do not forget the PINK colored lures as crappie really like them.

Never seen anyone stop to pull a fish in while trolling.
