Default TIme To Leave the Dock

The results have been dropping since Father's Day on a lake/dock that's been pretty good to us once we started fishing it this spring. So I grabbed a friend's canoe and took the little guy out to investigate the unreachable outside weedline edge, to see if the crappie had taken up residence there during this bakefest we've been having recently. A little bit of wind kept me paddling and him fishing, but the 10-11" inchers put a big smile on his face tonight.

I figure, the sooner he learns the ropes, the sooner I can spend more time fishing.

Hey jackie53, what's the advantage, or the situation to choose a sickle hook jig? I noticed them on your site and others, but have never tried them.

    Best.

The only advantage is where we normally us a #2 or # 1 regular bed or round bend hook we can go down to a smaller # 4 hook and the sickle gives us a wider gap with a smaller hook to be able to fish in thicker brush and they are a very sharp hook a little higher priced hook. The only disadvantage to us is a smaller barb. I am sure their are some Pro's on here that can give more tip's hope this helps!!!! Love to fish the boundry waters of Minnesota great fishing!!!!!! Enjoyed reading the post!!!!
