I am sure you are correct. Fished, with a friend, about a month ago, couple a bass was it.
Gave up hunting many years ago, never cared much for deer hunting. Yes, on spring.

I'm impatiently waiting for 1 December when ruffed grouse season opens for the month. Hoping for local saf ice to be able to spear some pike this winter.

Curious..where do you hunt grouse? I ran into some, many years ago, in the Hopkins area. Hunted all around there, was good for pheasant too.

Public, national forest or timber company land generally north of M20. If I could I'd move to the UP.

The farthest south I've personally found a ruffed grouse in Michigan is a couple of hundred yards north of M57 a few miles west of Carson City while hunting pheasant nearly two decades ago.

Boats tucked away. Didn't do the hunting thing, but stayed busy with a couple of house projects and hanging with the grands. 13 degrees this morning. Really looking forward to getting on the ice. Unfortunately supposed to get highs in the upper 40's early next week... Think the lakes are ready to go around here, just need some consistent temps. Any of you up north finding safe ice yet? How did the bird hunting go Dean?

The grouse hunting went well this season. Hoping for a couple more outings before the seasons ends on 1 Jan.
I'm hearing of some early ice spots that guys are getting out pike spearing. Looking forward to that and hopefully a trip to LSC to spear perch if they get ice.
