Very good for you and your family. I love the boats!

As I continue to “Play” with the boat, and after conversations.

I have come to a few conclusions.

1.
I have 309.9 reasons to use “Recreational Fuel” on the back of the boat.

2.
Although I am giving Lowrance & Motorguide a year or two to see if I want my Minnkota/Humminbird, I have found Lowrance difficult at first.

Took a long time to figure out 1 simple thing.
The Detroit River, in HD, requires a Navionics card.

The preloaded maps are plentiful, in HD, just missing that DR.

There are to many obstacles @ DR for me to NOT have one.

So Once I have that map card, the Lowrance should be on par with the maps on my Humminbird.

I have need reading the Motorguide, and found the sequence to make the Motorguide dumb as a compass, so that’s good.

3.
Going to have to research waypoint conversions.
As in get my waypoints off my Humminbird, and there are hundreds, into the Lowrance.

4.
Need to determine if the front storage is “Dry” or not. They have the framing and lips for dry storage, but I am not sure about underneath.

5.
Storage is PHENOMENAL, I have pretty much everything going into it. And there is still LOTS of room.

6.
I need my Traxstech tracks before I can mount my night time navigating lights under the port gunne out of the way.

7.
Need some rod holders.

8.
(This alone should make Steve dump his AlumiCraft)

It came with a Engel cooler, for snacks, and such.

Just kidding Steve.

Um, that it off the top of my head right now.

Getting stainless steel bolts and nuts for the license plate so I do not get that goofy rust from the screws, and still waiting on registration letters samples.

Not in a creepy way, but SHES LEGAL.

Got the Registration Letters, & Numbers in place, and READY to GO!

I even have everything in it, with room for more rods, and tackle.

Next up is Traxstech Tracks, for mounting the Salmon gear, & Probably get it wired for Electric Down riggers.

Mount the Navigatin lights up under the port gunnel, and a VHF Radio.

THat all wont be done for a few months.

For the most part, though, its ready to case fish,

Had an on the water test Friday.

Drove up to Muskegon.

Launching is a bit different, as I am used to a roller trailer.

Had some choppy water, and the variable degree deadrise, and the rear of 17 Degrees made for an awesome stable ride.

Kicker was used & tested, worked well.
I troll will take some learning and practice.
I had it locked on first at 2.5 & thought I could hear Lake Michigan whispering “OneidaEagle, come visit me.........”

Need to work on the Lowrance. Slowly getting them to do what I want. Had issues turning down surface clutter, and a few other things.

Some of the terms are different, but it’s the only struggle.

Found the setting to make the motor guide Anchor Lock (Humminbird Spot Lock) upon arrival at a waypoint, or “Standby”

Was irritated that there was no heading display on the graph once the heading lock was set. Found the setting for that later that night.

Kudos, and props to Skillet who brought me his ice fishing battery pack, and I have been spending evenings on the couch, giving myself a crash course in Lowrance.

Another issue I had was the speed for trolling only showed the % of power. I am more used to speed. Found a way to change that as well.

It’s progress, but one draw back I have found, I think I despise the remote control for the Motorguide.

Even with all 4 seats in the cockpit, there was enough room to walk around, and not feel crowded. Despite the fact that I had left the “Fisherman’s Top” in the canvas bag off the port side.

I have my Kerosene heater fixed today, and can get some TShirt heat going and start putting items into it and packed away for next season.

I have room for 11 total 3700 Plano sized box’s, under the port dash. I have 3 for Salmon, and 2 for Walleye. This means I have more room for more gear than I ever dreamed, 6 more 3700’s to buy and fill. It to small for the special mate boxes, but those fit easily in the front under deck storage.

It has surpassed my initial thoughts on the boat, That’s for dang sure.

Lastly, loading was a bit different as well.

So I was curious, as my old boat, I would place on car wheel dollys and then rotate it 90 Degrees and shove it against the back wall of my garage for winter.

I could do this myself in about 40 minutes or so. Mostly moving stuff out of the way.

So I put together a spreadsheet, to do a quick weight comparison.

The only thing I am missing is the trailer weight of my old trailer. The closest I could find was a single axle Karavan Roller Trailer @ 630#

With a total weight increase of 2128.08#

Now I know why my truck begs for a break after going up a hill with it.
