I miss wading in the river and fishing in heat like this. I could always find the trout.
What, no photos of Michelle? She is WAY more photogenic than you! Nice whistle trout though.
I spent all day on the tractor. Started with the bean planter for the neighbor, then to the brush hog. Cut a few paths at my place through 5 foot grass, mowed the alfalfa and clover, then on to the tiller to get my last two plots worked up.
Finished it off by planting, packing, and dragging. This is the earliest I've ever gotten them all in. Even got sunflowers in.
I don't wear shorts often. Today I did. I thought the dirt covered my upper legs good. Nope, still got burnt.
As a good service announcement, I carry a softsided cooler on the tractor. In it I have 2 frozen 20oz bottles of water, 3 12 oz bottles of electrolytes, and 3 bottles of water. As the ice melts, I drink the water and fill the bottle. I always have cold water!
One thing I learned in the Marines was how to stay cool and hydrated. Another tip is to have a towel on your neck. Those cold towels are no different than a good old dish towel with one exception. Air gets through the cold towel which keeps you cool. The key is to have it on your caroted artery. I'm not afraid of heat, I just don't like it!
