Let's see, I've used a soda bottle and wrapped by hand, pulled line by hand into a 5 gallon bucket, tied it to a tree and took off with my side by side, tied it to the mailbox and drove off with the car (picked it all up afterwords), had hyper kids take off running with it, and used a drill. Make sure to save your old spools. You can build a chuck and the spool picks up more line.

I was thinking of affixing something to a bike wheel, put it on jacks, and have someone pedal. I have also thought of putting an old rim on my atv, put the rear end in the air, and spool on to that.

A red hot razor blade works good too.
