Thread: Uncle Don's coffeehouse 2018

Had the opportunity to fish last week in Canada for the walleye opener. Fished Dog lake Missanabi Ontario. Two weeks prior to the trip the lake still had 2 foot of ice and trip was in danger of cancelation...well it went out quick and proceeded to be close to 80 each day. Mother nature cooperated. First time in 18 years it didn't snow once in the week. Nice to be off the grid, see friends from Florida, Minnesota and the UP as well as a few local Lansing guys. Jigging, trolling and Lindy rigs produced walleye dinner each night. Lake trout, smallys, white fish and Pike were also taken. Now back to reality and work....

Looks like you got into some good uns. I was 12 hrs. in the other direction, got home yesterday afternoon to a yard that needed mowing and asparagus that needed picking. Mowed for a couple of hours, ran the lawn sweeper and mulched the garden. It's funny how things change in 5 days, when I left my green beans were just poking their heads out of the ground, when I got back they're up 4-5 inches tall.

Steve, how's the FIL doing?

Jerry, regarding the FIL, he had surgery on his hip, they put a pin in it. I think he's gonna have a rough time ahead of him for recovery.....the day he retired he picked up a TV remote and hasn't done anything since......so with his dementia, copd and just plain laziness, I doubt he will have any ambition for physical therapy......we'll see, I've been wrong a couple times in my life.

Now we wait until the 5th for diagnosis on another blindside hit we got a few days ago.....
