Got a call at 6 am this morning from my niece. Her husband is in Mississippi with the Army Reserves and her dad is in Florida for the winter. She said her house smelled like rotten eggs and thought it might be propane. I had her turn off the furnace and the propane at the tank and get out of the house. When I got there I knew right away it wasn't propane, it was sewer. With all of this rain and melting snow, her drain field was under water and, I think, backing the septic tank into the basement through a floor drain. After a couple of hours moving boxes and totes, sweeping and shop vaccing I was able to get most of the grey water cleaned up and get a plug in the floor drain. I guess you can say I'm having a crappie day.
The older I get the more I realize the therapeutic benefits of fishing
