I treat it like a new truck.

I buy one, drive it down the road, find a two track with brush on both sides and drive a couple of miles. Usually like to throw a couple bowling balls and bricks in the bed. When I come out the other end I no longer have to worry about scratches, dings or dents.

Same with a boat, drive it home and drill a hole in it as soon as you get there!
