Had the opportunity to fish last week in Canada for the walleye opener. Fished Dog lake Missanabi Ontario. Two weeks prior to the trip the lake still had 2 foot of ice and trip was in danger of cancelation...well it went out quick and proceeded to be close to 80 each day. Mother nature cooperated. First time in 18 years it didn't snow once in the week. Nice to be off the grid, see friends from Florida, Minnesota and the UP as well as a few local Lansing guys. Jigging, trolling and Lindy rigs produced walleye dinner each night. Lake trout, smallys, white fish and Pike were also taken.
