Worked on both Saturday and Sunday so I could go to Morrison today with my neighbor, Jeff. We were on the water at 6:45 and with a light WSW wind it set us up perfectly to drift the length of the lake. I was fishing three rods, one with my go to double rig, one tight lining a hali and the third with a gold hook and slip bobber. Jeff was using a hali/ slip bobber on one rod and a double rig on the other. Red worms and pieces of night crawlers were the bait. We started picking up bluegill right away and after the first drift we had 20 gills and 2 perch on ice. We worked our way back up wind just off the ends of the docks on the north shore and picked up another 10 gills. We decided to try for a few perch and moved to a secret spot in 14 fow and again the fish were eager to bite. Eventually they slowed down and we moved to the south shore to try and finish our bluegill limit. One pass resulted in 6 more keepers and we decided that we had plenty of fish to clean so we loaded the boat on the trailer and headed for home. We were home and cleaning fish by 3:30 with the final tally of 41 bluegills and 27 perch. Most of them are going towards a fish fry in three weeks but I did take out enough perch for dinner. I now sit here in my recliner with a bully full of tomatoes, cucumbers and green beans from the garden and fresh perch fried golden brown. Life is good!
