my brother called and asked me if I wanted to go crappie fishing with him on a small private lake near him Saturday afternoon..........heck yeah!!
had a Blast, caught close to 100 in about 4 hours, 1/16 jigs with gulp alive minnows, just cast up next to the edge of the weeds and bam!!!!
they ran nice sized also, most were 10 1/2 - 11 1/2 had a few around 13.
just a small 10 ft jon boat (my back is still feeling it..)and an electric trolling motor.
most fish were females and they still had eggs, a lot of the time you could see the "v" when they came for the jig.
I am wondering if they were spawning on the tops of the weeds?anyway fun day.
now it is time to get ready for crappie camp.
