Got a visit from an old friend today
His name is Mr. Sunshine! After 11 days of gloom it was sure nice to have the sun shining again. I'm working on a siding job on a new build and have battled below zero wind chills, heavy rains, mud so deep I couldn't walk in it without leaving my boots behind, etc. The new snow had to be shoveled back from the foundation today so I can finish up and I ended on the south side of the house. After that work out and with the sun warming things up nicely I got the urge to shed my hoodie and long john top and let the sun warm my bare skin. Man did that feel good! As I was standing there enjoying the warmth ( and the cold at the same time ) the drywaller stuck his head out the window and told me I wasn't right in the head. Maybe he's right but at least I got to work on my tan.

I work outside part time. I agree the day is better with a little heat and sun.

It was a beautiful day out, not sure about the taking off shirts to bare skin though.....
I spent most of the day in my shop working on some wood projects, looks like I'll be there again today.
Been waiting on financing to go through on my next job, got a phone call yesterday afternoon that I should be able to begin next Monday. Homeowners are anxious for me to get started and very apologetic that the $$$ hadn't been released yet.
You know how it is, feast and famine, hurry up and wait......like I told Rich the other day, when I have these little "wait for the money or materials delivery" time it's usually when I hook up to the boat and go fishing. The way it is this year theres just enough cold to not want to get the boat out and not enough ice ( in my opinion) to go ice fishing. Shop time is a good alternative.....
All in all, we've had a mild winter not a lot of snow and those temps in the 60's a while back sure helped shorten up the winter doldrums. It's February, spring is almost here!

6 more weeks and spring is here! Jeff came down today with his boat and we packed bearings and prepped the boat for our trip to Louisiana. Leaving on the 10th. Looking forward to some warmer weather and spending time with my son. He bought a different house so I have a few projects to do while I'm there. I'm sure we'll get in a lot of fishing. Maybe this will be the trip I get my 2 pounder.

Packing wheel bearings.......that reminds me, I need to do that.
Have fun down there Jerry, hope you get that biggn!
-
Pack bearings? What is that? Haven't packed a bearing in years! Thank god!
-
Good luck Jerry and be safe. Hope you find that 2# too!
Life has many choices, eternity has two...choose wisely.
Unapplied biblical truth is like unapplied paint...how many gallons do you have sittin' around? U.D.

Yeah, packing bearings isn't my favorite job but it's one that has to be done. When we get back I need to pull my boat into the garage and change bearings on that.

My other boat trailer had bearing buddies so I just periodically gave them attention with the grease gun, and all was good.
The boat trailer I have now, does not have them and I need to install a set. The only "little" problem then will be I will need to remove the tires/rims to grease them with a grease gun, since the center cap of the rim denies easy access to do that task.
