strange year
having tried a few lakes lately I have come to the conclusion that the fish are all messed up this year!! LOL!!
some lakes the crappie have not spawned yet, others they are done..
some the gills are on the beds.....others not even close.
these super hot days and night should have everything going very soon.
it is very strange to find gills on the beds and crappie full of eggs right next to them, but that is happening on some lakes.
got 47 nice gills yesterday, hope to leave work at noon today for another go round....if the storms hold off

got to get out Tuesday night, 5/31 with my brother, first time we have ever fished together that I can remember. Had a great time.
went to long lake south of Hastings, the gills were going strong, pulled 40 pretty quick , then went hunting for some crappie.
we found some just off the break in 10-14 ft water, all females still full of eggs, I have to believe they are just not going to spawn ? several were fairly swelled up, but the eggs were not runny at all.
lots of gar around , seen a couple of groups of more than 10.
