Yesterday was the second time in as many years that I have had the opportunity to take a preacher on his first kayak fishing trip. Now I have known a few of you CDC members for several years now, but not really on a personal level, so for the most part, you all may not know that I am not a religious person, and know very little about religion. I don't have any problem with those who are religious, and in fact, it's nice to see when people are committed to something, as long as it is not pushed on me, just as I don't push my beliefs on anyone else. Well as it just so happened, the 72 year old gentleman who joined me in my kayak yesterday, was actually a Bishop. Now as I said before, I know pretty much nothing about religions, but if I'm not mistaken, a Bishop isn't just your every day average preacher. So this old heavy metal headbanging partier, and a Bishop are in a kayak. Ha, sounds like the start of a joke doesn't it? Anyhow, along with my son in his own kayak, we managed to land a few nice fish, with Dave catching his first ever fish while kayaking, a nice 11 inch crappie. We caught a few nice 10 - 12 inch specks and a few gills on the smallish side. All in all it was a great day on the water in Northern Michigan.
