Saturday starts "Round One" of the Michigan Walleye tour. Today is my last day of work for the week before I start the long grind of pre-fishing for this event.

The event is a full field of 100 boats and Kevin and I are slated Lucky number 13 for the year. What that means is, when they start each event, we are not the tiny little speck you see way in the back of the pack waiting to go!!!

It will be a cold week and I suspect the river will be muddy and high due to the recent fluctuations in river conditions. Fortunately for us, my buddy Brian over at H2Ohammer.com built us some custom baits with super glow colors. Might be just what the doctor ordered in very stained water.

Unlike years past when the migration is hitting full swing, this year appears as though the team that can find a good fish or two will be in the drivers seat. I like these odds better than the full migration. That means someone isn't going to stumble in to winning. They have to put in the work to find the fish.

I'll try and make a daily post to show what we are doing and what we are up against. Kevin will be fishing Wednesday through Friday and I'll be out pretty much all week.

Remember, it is a long season and points are the name of the game at the end of the year but... it is nice to get the most points you can. Can't get any more than winning it all!!
