Just a few pointers Al... Not saying I've ever fished that channel between lake Michigan and Muskegon lake, or the old sand docks next to the channel.... but... If I was to have ever fished it, I would want to possibly try trolling a few hot-n-tots in black and gold, or a few rapalas. Near shore on Lake Michigan and through the channel and then south of the sand docks. Throw a few bottom bouncers out for good measure.
I'd probably be running some baits behind my "Off-Shore" boards!!
Oh, and not saying I've fished it either but..... if you go east across Muskegon lake from the shipping channel, there is a flat (about 6 to 10 feet deep). Starts getting a few weeds this time of year. You might find a walleye or two hanging out around that area..
Just sayin!!!!!
Have fun. I've called in sick at the doctors a few times myself!
I have OCD "Obsessive Crappie Disorder"
Good info, never fished it yet
Wife and I got out on a local lake yesterday afternoon. From 5-9:30ish. We caught 25 decent crappie. Nothing super huge, but nothing tiny either. First cast yesterday landed me the first fish, so I knew it'd be a good day.
Here fishy, fishy, fishy...
What ready2fish said usually works for me too. Congrats on a nice mess Al.
