    Default Open Water Reports

I am currently residing in South Bend, Indiana so my usual Crappie fishing lakes in Berrien, Van Buren and Cass Counties are a bit of a drive. I was wondering if anyone had any reports as to if any of the more "popular" lakes are still iced over or not. Itching to get the boat out and do some fishing!

    Would greatly appreciate it!

I wish I could help you H2O, but I live a bit north of there in Holland. My local lake was still 60% covered last weekend. It really makes a diff. on size, currents, etc. so hard to say without first hand knowledge. There are a couple of members down that way, but I don't see them posting a lot, so just have to wait and see.

Open water at Duck lake this is north of Paw Paw, it seems that the wind we had kicked the crap out of the ice. We got the boat wet today!

If Duck is open, then I would think Eagle and Muskrat would be also, or very close.

I'm right on the Michigan/Indiana line. We have several small lakes open now. Most larger lakes are opening up along the shorline but are still ice covered for the most part. Expecting some warmer temps this week that should help speed things up. I'm hitting a small local lake this Wed after work.

Clinton river is clear of ice here. Haven't been anywhere else much. Getting tough to control that fishers itch.
