    Default Perch & Bees..

We kept 21 Perch today from 7" to 9 1/2" We were doing good and having a good time. Then Crappie 2 (Sandy) said Honey, I have to go potty and quick. Well, it was 3/4 of a mile to the launch and only 75 yards to the woods, so I chose the woods. I pulled up to shore and let Sandy out. All of a sudden she starts hollering bees and came running back to the boat with the bees stinging her, She gets into the boat still getting stung, then I got stung. It was pretty exciting for a few minutes. Yellow Jackets are pretty darn mean. It was kind of funny after while..Name: 2013-09-22 001.jpg

Nice perch Larry and GOOD EATING too. This seems to be a bad summer for stingers. I have been attacked twice by yellow jackets, the most recent being yesterday while I was refurbishing my deer shack. There was a nest of the little devils inside that I didn't see until they launched an attack. . My wife had an encounter with baldface hornets while hanging laundry. The nest was really big but hard to see for all of the leaves on the branch close to the clothes lines.

Those are some good eaters Larry! Sorry that you and Sandy had to deal w/ bees. Carol ran into a nest of ground wasps while weeding the flowers this summer too.

    Larry,

The lake looks like it gave up some good bounty. If I get stung (or for that matter, if I just find a nest) I seek revenge. Maybe you and Sandy should head back to the lake. If not for revenge, then at least you know where the fish are!

I keep a small jar of honey in my boat. When you get a bee sting, put a dab of honey on the spot. Takes the sting away.

Nice looking perch there Larry. Bummer about the bees. At least no one was allergic.

When I heard about it I thought it was a joke. I got stung this summer in the lip, & tryed it. Worked instantly.
Not sure if it helped with the swelling, because I also used ice.

Bees came out from under the seats in my boat early this summer. I am allergic so I jumped out immediately while my buddy fought them off with his tee shirt.
