    Default No Fish.

Fished yesterday for about 3 hours. Caught 2 Sm. Pike and nothing else. Friend got 3 little Crappie. We had fish on the Vex, but they weren't interested. Tried Lindy Frosty Jigs, plastics/minnows on a plain hook/Lindy Fat Boys/waxies, just couldn't get them to go. Rained hard while we were out there. Anyone else fishing?

Monroe (S.E.) is sad for ice. Every time the ice starts getting safe it warms up and I stay home. I guess I'm gonna have to start driving north if I want ti wet a line. I'm thinking about trying to find a floating shanty. Ha!

Sump pump died last night so I get to play plumber today or I'll be able to do some fishing in my basement. Lots of rain in Maybee.

    Larry,
I'm betting weather is playing a huge part but, for what it is worth, Maribou jigs have been dynamite for us this year. Lime green hair, and White hair have been the ticket. They have sparkle flakes in them. Most of the time we fish them bare, but we do tip with a spike or a minnow from time to time. Always have a set rig with a minnow on it. Most nights, the Maribou jigs catch early, then we get them on minnows. Just something to try. It is my first time with them and I am planning on putting some in the boat for soft water fishing.

A 72 year old resident of Hubbard Lake drowned yesterday. They found the ATV, but not him. They recovered the body later. There was 10" of ice. Pressure cracks & gas bubbles. Be safe out there. There really is no "safe ice"

I have some of each of those colors and usually run one or two when I push jigs. The ones with metallic tracers in them seem to do better for me.

    Don,
Same here on the metallic tracers. Both the ones mentioned above have the metallic in them. Great jigs. I've been finding a few others (off brand) that I really like as well.

We were hauling hay from Irish Hills area and Addison, MI Saturday. Past a lot of small lakes. NO ONE on the ice. Did not see any shanty's. I was suprised that NO ONE one fishing. Oce looked slushy - still hopeful though.
