I can't take any time off. I would have to travel on a Saturday evening and fish with you guys on Sunday. If things are done by then, then I guess it wouldn't make sense for me to go. Could the Slab fest be held in Central Michigan so us "East Siders" could join you? Seems like all the activities are held on the West Side.

Hi Ole Timer. The regular Slab Fests are usually held on the West or Southwest side of the state because that's where most of the guys are from. They have a West Mi. C.D.C. club with 1/2 Doz. members. We had a get together last winter at Cadillac, still on the West side though. Were on the Northeast side of the state, so we share the same problem--getting there.

With only a hand full of members that attend the outing pretty much live in the same area and its not always easy to make in convenient for everyone.

I always like to go to new places and except the fact sometime i will have to travel further and this is part of being a member to a site that has outings

Something i noticed this spring while down south in the big state of Mississippi people travel many miles to attend, i think Don could agree on this.

Any how i think its a good idea it was a blast last year so count me in.

I wouldn't mind going back to Cadillac, Houghton lake or even the east side of the sate for some Walleye, just some ideas

Jimmy, I agree with you. It's great to be a part of this site. The outings or Slab Fests are great. We have a lot of Michigan Members and all of us don't live on the West side of the state. Myself, and this is just my opinion, I think it's only right and fair that the Slabfests are held in different parts of the state so that everyone has an opportunity to attend. Not trying to stir the pot here, but the 2 we went to we drove over 500mi the first time and close to 400 the second time. Split it up and make it fair for everyone. Just my $.02, so don't take it wrong...

    Greetings Gentlemen,
Something I thought about but do not know how to do. Set up an interactive map of Michigan where we could indicate each persons approximate location. I was playing with the map it looks like Lansing is pretty much a central location. In looking at members profiles I am suprised at how close some of us are. Just a thought. I was out by Lake Erie yesterday and did not see anyone on the ice yet.

Guys, I agree with everyone. I know it is always hard to please the majority. Even holding a vote sometimes doesnt seem fair because some members are located closer than others. I am fortunate to have lived both north and south and have fished the entire state from tip to tail and coast to coast. I am also fortunate in my job and am willing to drive anyplace that people WANT to go. I am always willing to car pool and drive. Alot of times they are held north because of conditions being better. I like Jimmys idea though. Saginaw might be a good bet. West siders want to fish that fishery, close for the northeastern and southeastern guys. Heck, meet close to Lansing and catch a ride with me. Im in either way. You guys decide. I say crappie1 and 2 take us perch fishing....Im stayin at their house!!!

Mike, i like the interactive map idea. Would give all of us a better idea of members who live close to us
