I finally got around to the bunks this weekend. They were much worse than I thought. The originals were very rotted. They were held on by lag screws and all the threads were rusted away. I put the new ones on with stainless 3/8 elevator bolts and used a Forster bit to make them flush. Per the groups recommendation I used cypress lumber.
