    Is this the 4cyl version?
    I'd rather be fishing.

I had a similar problem with an '88 Merc 50 hp. Changed fuel lines, filter and even drained the onboard fuel tank thinking I had a water problem. None of that helped. Ended up having the switch box replaced and that took care of 99% of the problem. Went through the carbs and that solved the problem 100%.
The older I get the more I realize the therapeutic benefits of fishing

It would be beneficial to know what you've already done. Also, is the motor accelerating up to speed before running erratically or does it never get up and go?
You mentioned something about an oiler earlier. Please tell me you aren't running the autoblend system.
    I'd rather be fishing.
