    Default TM question

Is there a way to tighten up a cable control so it doesn't swing back and forth so easy? Minn Kota Pro 80lb thrust.

Look under the front of foot pedal. Some Minkota's have a tension screw you can adjust.

The tension adjustment screw will help, but be careful not to get it too tight. It is meant to take the "slop" out of the footpedal. Getting it too tight will cause the pinion in the shaft to pull toward the cables and premature wear on the upper bearing. Check the alignment of the trolling motor on the boat. If it is not straight up and down with it in the deployed position when being used, the torque of the motor will cause it to swing.
