Default I retired from repairing props after

18 years and of all the 50 merc props, I repaired they were mostly 10x13 so the 12x22 is way off........ if it is a merc prop it will be on the side of the prop what dia and pitch it is..... such as 10x13 or 10x15 depending on size of the boat you are pushing........

Is this something that can be done by a nonmechanical person or should I take it to a dealer. Are any specialty tools needed or anything like that?
Call and ask when you order your prop. Most Powertechs don't require a hub kit. Ours don't since Merc's in that size range are standardized. Just be aware that you need the REB series and NOT the NREB series.

If you don't mind me asking, what's the difference?

The NREB is a larger diameter and designed for the motors with the Bigfoot (or lower gear ratio'd) lower unit.

Yeah Toms Creek is a real good spot. My inlaws have a lot on deer creek and that is a real good fishing hole. I went to lick creek sunday and caught 14 keepers. My wife's family is from Pineview.
