It is to me anyway, a month or so i asked the question why my motor would turn over sometimes and at other times it would not.

Your responses were good ie make sure the battery cables are clean and tight so i cleaned them and tighten them up just for good measure,check starter replace if needed so i had the starter replaced, check silenoid(sp) replace if needed.

MY motor is still doing the same thing is there anything else besides the silenoid that i need to be looking at. When i turn the key to start the motor it does not make any noise, so i turn the key on and off a few times and then it will catch and start.

Tell me what needs fixed, and if it is none of the above what could it be.

Only thing I can think of is maybe a short in your ignition wiring. I am not a mechanic, just offering a suggestion. Good luck. Having some cranking and idling problems with my 25hp mariner myself.

Mine did just like that once. It was a bad ground. I removed the end of the battery ground cable that fastens to the engine block....I cleaned the end of the cable and scraped and cleaned some of the paint off of the engine block where the cable bolts down to and bolted it back down. That cured the problem.

Had to replace mine, rare, but they do go bad

Could be wiring, keyswitch, intermittent cell in the battery (rare but happens, If you can jump power at the starter and get it to turn over every time then depending on your setup I'd start looking for any safety switches or interlocks that would disrupt the starting cycle.

Key switch sounds like a good place to start, especially if you can giggle it around and get it to finally work.

Replace the solenoid. There is a round copper disc inside and that is what makes contact to start the motor. Each time you use it, it rotates a little bit. Over the years that disc gets burn't and when it gets bad enough it no longer makes contact. Until it rotates past the burnt spot. That's why sometimes it works and others it doesn't.
