Fishing season never ends at my house.

My fishing boat never sits long enough to have a problem. But I do have a Pontoon that sits on the water all year with the exception of being pulled out every other year to clean and change impellar. Knock on wood but all I have ever done is put som StaBil in it at the end of the year when we are done with it and I have not had one single issue. Our local boat dock owner told me that his tank holds 3000 gallons and that in the slow winter months it lasts him 90 days or more. He also said that he puts nothing in it.

What I do (unless I forget!) is to empty the gas into my SUV, refill the tank with non-ethanol fuel (Exxon gas is almost the only non-ethanol fuel around here) and add a double rate of Sta-Bil stabilizer. This prevents condensation in the tank and the fuel is good for the year. Should you leave gas in the motors carb. over the winter??? That's been covered here before and guys have different opinions.
