First Crappie of 2015
Met a couple fishing buddies after work Thursday at 5 pm. Beautiful evening and the crappie were cooperative. Using small jigs and minnows suspended we caught crappie, largemouth and quite a few brown bullheads too. I lost track of how many I caught but it had to be around 50. The largest bass was around 3 pounds. I saved the largest 8 crappie up to 11 inches for dinner tonight, the rest were released. Best bite was around 6:30 when it started to get a little chilly. One of my buddies caught a few white perch using blood worms but most of them were 10 inches or smaller. We had the spot to ourselves.
