    Default Breaking tradition report


    Capt Dave and I hit the pier at Accokeek around 2 pm. Stopped at Lion King for some ocean perch for bait. Handed him my 12 foot custom heaver and in two short casts he mastered it.. amazing. He was way out there in the 40 foot water after three casts.. Well then the unthinkable happened after many years of fishing the first day of the year. Totally out of the blue I caught a catfish.. blue catfish in fact. It was so out of tradition.

    Great. I was at balls creek yesterday and tried for Y perch for a few minutes but caught nothing, I couldn't leave the better half waiting in the jeep for too long.
