Default What a slob of a cat

Had a very nice crew today and the goal was to get a big one. Setup in a area known for big one's and got a bunch of throwbacks that where ok but not the big one. Put a few eaters in the boat and decided to move. Next spot had lots of eaters and even more grass mats and logs the size of small boats. It was constant work cleaning lines and avoiding the big logs on a very fast outgoing. Having had enough we went in search of a better spot.
As moved down river my lying machine was covered with bait and big arches so we setup on top of them. Must have found the biggest slug of baby blue cats ever and they just about ate almost all my bait up. Time to move again. As I headed for a spot with some good drop offs my lying machine once again showed some big fish. Dropped the hook well before my next spot and put 3 more eaters in the boat. Then the corner bent over and the bait runner started to rip line off. Click on the drag and the line continued to rip off. Fought the rod out of the holder and the young man did a superb job of getting the monster cat to the boat. With three lines wrapped up in it I netted perhaps the biggest cat of my life. It went 46 inches and was huge.

Cute girls with nasty catfish - somehow that just doesn't work...Damn those things are ugly, they look like Potomac Manatees.

Keep catching those catfish - I dont want them eating up those crappies!

Always the question? Maybe mid 80's but I really do not know. It was much heavier than a 70 lb bag of concrete. It took two of us to lift it in and release it.
