I have never heard of the thermacell until I came to this site, I read a lot of good reviews about it, I will have to get one and try it, I also bow hunt in the fall and sometimes I don't go too early in the season because the skeeters are so bad. I don't care if it costs a little bit, if it works I will report back. Up here in northern Wisconsin this is a bad year so far for mosquito's.

I use my thermacell during bowseason and deer don't mind it at all. I actually dropped mine out of my stand last year. A doe came up and sniffed it and went on back to feeding. Didn't spook her at all. Thermacells are great. They keep the mosquitos and other bugs away better than any other repellant I have found.

Since you are a deer hunter I was going to tell you that Thermacell also makes coverscent inserts called ThermaSCENT. I haven't tried them, but if they work as well as their repellants, they might be worth trying.

They're great in the stand. And they're not that expensive. Around $20 I think and the refills aren't that bad either.

I'd leave my minnows at home before I'd leave the Thermacell! THEY WORK!!!
