    Default Summertime light bites

Sometimes I just know they are there , I don't really need to see it on an electronic device . I simply use what I know about the water body and make calculated choices based on what I am about 100% sure of in most cases.
And then it begins , a simple game of what do you guys like today ? Small jig , slow fall ? Big jig and dance it a bit ? something flashy traveling by maybe ? or do you fisheez want it really still and teasing them fishee lips a bit ?
So it went like this , bigger jig , a few bites , bright color and moving slowly .......a few VERY light bites ....
dropped down to a tiny jig and lost it on the first drop and hookset , weak spot in the line ......
went to another small jig , but not quite as small and fished it so slow and so deep it was touching the bottom a few times .
I tried a float , but it was just not in the cards , I continued my vertical bottom hugging presentation and managed to ketch a few for dinner .
Mind you this , the bite was really tricky and about half the fish were not really big enough for my dinner plans.
After I had enough for dinner , I retired from the venue .
Best part of this visit was some floating algae , one of those small clumps you see from time to time that float up off the bottom in the summer months . One about the size of a hatchling turtle was floating by and I noticed a large shadow moving towards it .....low and behold a true monster bass was easing up on it and then MUCH to my surprise , the bass gave it a taste ....of course it didn't eat it , but to be very sure it was checking it out to see if it was edible . I have seen a few cool things in my time , but to be sure that was really interesting , I am pretty sure that bass has taken advantage of hatchling turtles before , this is the season they show up and to be very sure , that is the only explanation I can come up with ......of course other than the fact that bass are some of the stupidest fish in the water .....just saying
    and then .....
until I hammer them somewhere soon again ....
    KABOOM is the word
