I seldom take a pic of more than one fish as I release the vast majority of my catch is released after the pic is taken. IMHO fish under a pound and a half taste better to me. The larger ones may taste the same to some folks and that’s OK, i like big fish better when they’re making babies and not dinner.

The photos I take are for a lure photo-journal and are future reminders of any of the shapes, sizes and lure actions I should bring fishing. Some combinations are with me for life and are as basic as a hook though some seem to work better in certain waters and/or at certain times of year.

Of the 102 fish I caught yesterday in a different lake, most sunfish and crappie were on the short side, probably not worth the trouble as compared to the day before. The 3 lb bass I caught was probably the only fish worth filleting though I, like you, would rather c & r the big ones that are in the minority gene pool.
