Very early spring baits and tactics

I’m in FL fishing shallow lakes 6’-7’ deep longlining 1/16 oz roadrunner pros with CB grubs at .8, baits real close to the boat or jigging pads/grass along the river using a 1/8 oz pops hair jig.

When you are going .8, what is the water temp?

2-3 weeks ago it was 50-55 yesterday was 72. Crazy cold and warm fronts end of Jan. .8 is my go to in 5’- 7’ a little faster when im deeper like in the river channels. When im in St. John’s River proper I’ll go .9 to 1.2 and put out 1/16 on inshore and 1/8 on outside as I’ll have 10-15’ difference. I go small on inside with grubs and big on the river side with BG Stroll r’s.

I still consider myself a novice but I always come home with dinner.

Most here just livescope mostly roaming Crappie . Dropping any jig on their nose with livescope .

This, just use what you like fishing with. Finding the fish is half the battle, which is being eliminated with ffs. I know a BG baby shad is highly effective, but I don't use it. Same with a whacky worm, it's very effective but I'd rather use something else

No clue here , done forgot and have to start all over again….
Been that long for me , just saying
But if I had the chance , I would try deep water cover close to spawn areas and hold a big ole hand tied jig really still in said cover for the big white ones …
I would do something similar in a bit shorter water if the target was black crappie and use something smaller and ORANGE….MAYBE

Poor ketchn ..... no KABOOMS huh? ..... maybe you need to quit your job and retire!
